Bandiyaa Jehun is a popular dance form that takes place in the Maldives Island. Though, western pop and Indian music are becoming increasingly popular, but this traditional Bandiyaa Jehun folk dance of Maldives has its own importance. The Island Alif Atoll Thoddu is very famous for Banduya jehun.

Maldives for Abhishek’s 40th birthday
 

Aishwarya Rai, daughter Aaradhya along with the entire Bachchan clan including father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan, mother-in-law Jaya and sister-in-law Shweta are holidaying in Maldives for Abhishek’s birthday. 

Abhishek Bachchan turns 40 today and the family was seen enjoying a cruise holiday in Maldives. Posting the picture on his Facebook account, Abhishek’s father and megastar Amitabh Bachchan wrote: “The family that stays together .. sails together ..!!” Also read: Revealed: Abhishek Bachchan’s Housefull 3 look, his 40th birthday gift In the picture Abhishek’s daughter Aaradhya can be seen sitting comfortably in her mother’s lap while Shweta is with her father Big B and Abhishek sits next to his mom Jaya Bachchan. 

Abhishek wife Aishwarya and daughter Aaradhya were also seen at the beach. Abhishek shared a beautiful picture of him with wife Aishwarya showing their little one the fireworks and wrote: “Life is a journey which is far more enjoyable when your holding hands with the ones you love.”

Maldives is not just admired for its beauty but also it is known for its fabulous dances and music. When it comes to music and entertainment, this gorgeous island has so much to offer. The Maldives people are a friendly folk that has ancestral roots of Sri Lankan, African, Indian, Arab and Portuguese origins. The Maldivian culture is heavily influenced by these countries.

For example Bandiya jehun: the beating of metallic water pots to the tune of an accompanying song linked to Indian music and Boduberu: a form of Maldivian folk music  consisting of  drumming linked to Afrian tribal drumming rituals.

Types of cultural events  commemorating marriages or circumcision includes Bandiya jehun, Thaara, Langiri, Boduberu, Gaa Odi lava and Maafathi neshun.
